THREE SHORT POEMS

RUTH'S TOOTH
Edel Wignell ©

First published in Puffinalia Magazine and read on ABC Radio 3LO; also published
in Practically Primary Magazine and Annette Kosseris-Haynes (comp.), Here We Go
Again, (Kindamindi Publishing); in Writer's Forum (USA) and Junior Education (UK).

There was a young lassie called Ruth,
Who wriggled a little looth tooth;
   She hitched and she twitched
   Like a goblin bewitched,
Till that tooth came looth from her mooth.

SEA MONSTERS
Edel Wignell ©

First published in Orbit Magazine

Creatures of the deep
Range the ocean wide,
Cruise around the islands,
Hungry, evil-eyed.

Hunting for their dinner,
Seeking on their trips:
Fishermen in boats,
Tasty fish and ships.

INJURY
Edel Wignell ©

First published in School Magazine

We raced our bikes and crashed.
I looked at the gash, and swooned.
Then my Dad discovered a bandage
And wound it round the wound.
